Elizabeth Olsen she exposed herself on possible return Of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actress has no idea when the character will return to the MCU, but she hopes that any new appearances of her will find in her more humor and redemption.
Scarlet Witch was the villain of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessMarvel film directed by Sam Raimi and released in 2022 at the cinema, which ended with the character crushed under a collapsing building after she sacrificed herself to destroy Darkholdthe evil book of witchcraft that had corrupted her.
«We can do anything with her now! – said the actress to the microphones of ScreenRant – I feel like we’ve done so much. Now we can really enjoy ourselves; I feel like there’s a lot more humor to be had with her. It’s often the emotion of a story and I’m curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully we can give her some redemption».
Even though Scarlet died at the end of Doctor Strange, the character could return in a new version now that Marvel is exploring the Multiversesimilarly to what will happen with the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 after his death at the end of Logan – The Wolverinand 2017. «There is so much more to explore – the Marvel Studios president told Variety Kevin Feige last year on Wanda’s future – We haven’t touched many of the main storylines in the comics yet. I would work with Lizzie for another 100 years if we could. Anything is possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see».
In interviews following the sequel’s release Doctor Strange by Scott Derrickson from 2016, Olsen didn’t hide that she was surprised that Marvel took Scarlet Witch in an evil direction. In the series Wanda Vision Scarlet Witch has become a more vulnerable and complete characterwhile in Multiverse of madness it turned out completely bad.
«I think I was nervous and conflicted at first, as I hadn’t finished WandaVision yet, but we were almost done – continued the actress speaking with Variety – And I was like: “Oh my god, how do I make this all work together?” We got there; I arrived there. And she has become an incredible opportunity to get people hooked on this woman in WandaVision and having feelings for her, and then, you know, manipulating them in this movie, where one can be on his side and then feel conflicted».
