Tom Brady joked that his family would “kill” him if he returned to the NFL.
The former NFL star insists he will not return for a second time because if he were, he “wouldn’t be here tonight”.
Tom made the quip while chatting with YouTube star Mr. Beast (whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson) on his SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go!” With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.”
Mr. Beast joked that the episode’s ratings would “go through the roof” if the seven-time Super Bowl champion faked his unretired statement.
But Tom replied: “I’m not coming out of retirement.” His children include Benjamin, 13, and Vivienne, 10, with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, and Jake, 16, with Bridget Moyna .
He then joked: “I can’t joke. My parents will be on the phone, my kids will be on the phone.
“They’re going to kill me. I won’t be here tonight.”
Tom admitted that he had “exhausted” the only allowed period of non-retirement, referring to his decision to return to the NFL a month after retiring in February 2022.
He added: “Like I said, you only get one chance not to retire. I’ve used that up.”
In March, Tom admitted that he would focus on his children after retiring from the NFL.
“There’s nothing I love more than football, but I have young kids,” he told People magazine.
“They’ve had enough of their dad playing, and now it’s time for me to watch them play.”
That same month, he admitted that a return to the NFL was unlikely because he had recently adopted a new kitten for his daughter Vivian.
At the time, he wrote on Twitter (now known as X): “Anyone who thinks I have time to return to the NFL has never adopted a 2-month-old kitten for their daughter.”
Last year, the former NFL quarterback announced his retirement, but soon reversed his decision and re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
