In order to care for all without distinction, the Ministry of Health (SEDESA), through the Institute of Addiction Care and Prevention (IAPA) and the Mexico City Public Health Service, organized a Sex Worker Health Day this Thursday in the Municipality of Benito Juárez Hall Vladimir-Lenin roundabout, free comprehensive medical care.
IAPA Director Dr. José Antonio Alcocer Sánchez reported that, with the support of IAPA-BÚS, clinical research on providing psychological support, testing for HIV and Hepatitis C, and other treatments for addiction and, where appropriate, providing patients with access to medical attention . sex worker.
“If someone needs help with substance abuse, we provide them with support, assistance and guidance so they can receive free treatment from specialists,” Dr Alcoce explained.

It is worth mentioning that IAPA-BÚS consists of two clinics designed to serve people with addiction problems; the other office is medical and psychological counselling.

“For all those who take psychoactive substances, our mission is not to judge, not to convict, not to stigmatize anyone; rather, it is to listen, understand and help,” said Dr. Alcocer.
During the medical days, the mayor’s office conducted health checks on 60 sex workers, said Mónica Ramírez Vargas, director of the health precinct of Benito Juárez.
Through these actions, the Mexico City Department of Health (SEDESA) has recognized its commitment to guaranteeing the right to free, equal and non-discriminatory health.
