IDF reservists mocked on social media for new mustache trend

In 2020, mustaches have become popular among celebrities who really know something about fashion. Everyone from Harry Styles, Lil Nas X, Timothée Chalamet and even Justin Bieber have been spotted with mustaches under their noses.

But last week it became apparent that the trend was gaining momentum again, this time in the IDF.

“A very dangerous trend has spread across IDF bases – mustaches. No beards, just a fluffy mustache in the middle of the face,” noted Hapshuta’s Instagram account. “IDF soldiers, as we have seen over the past two days, you are all very beautiful. It’s a shame to spoil everything with this Jordanian image.”

Another figure who found herself in the trend is Israeli actress and comedian Tzipi Shavit, who photoshopped herself into the same photo of IDF soldiers in uniform.

“In light of the attention being paid to IDF reservists who are now growing mustaches, I decided to join this trend,” she wrote on Instagram. “By the way, my mustache didn’t grow, I just didn’t get rid of it.”

What do women think about mustaches?

Men, if any of you are wondering what women think of this new mustachioed look, here are some responses to Hapshuta’s post: And spoiler alert, the answer is no.

“I love the humor, they look like old photos of our grandparents,” one comment said.

“Perhaps they are trying to sympathize with the IDF soldiers who fought in the Yom Kippur War,” said another.

But the best answer was: “As if we weren’t suffering enough right now.”
