Water is an essential resource for health, but if not consumed, it may lead to diarrhea, acute gastroenteritis and other diseases.
The most effective way to eliminate any microorganisms that may cause illness is to boil them.
If the water in your home is not tap water, is not chlorinated, or has been changed in any way recently, it is recommended for drinking, washing food, utensils, and hands and teeth:
1) Boil in a covered container for five minutes, starting from a vigorous boil, and allow to cool before serving.
2) Chlorine with bleach, add the number of drops shown in the table below according to the concentration of bleach, and let it sit for 30 minutes before use.
Chlorine concentration of bleach (g Cl/l): 20 to 40
Number of drops of bleach per liter of water to be disinfected: 10
Chlorine concentration of bleach (g Cl/l): 55 to 65
Number of drops of bleach per liter of water to be disinfected: 2
Annex 3 ANMAT Regulation No. 7355/19
The bleach used must:
– Keep in original, opaque, airtight container.
– Your mark or label must state “Suitable for human consumption” and display the ANMAT registration number, RNE (National Register of Enterprises) and RNPUD (National Register of Household Products).
– Contains no additives (flavoring, coloring, etc.).
In both cases, clean containers with lids must be used (they must not previously contain chemicals) and must be used exclusively for this purpose. Finally, remember that if the water is cloudy, it should be filtered through a clean cloth before performing these procedures.
