This measure was taken while waiting for the flow of the Iguazu River to decrease, which reached 20,000 cubic meters per second yesterday afternoon.
The PNI government assured that public use of the Falls area will continue to be monitored to ensure safe conditions for visitors and park staff.
At a technical meeting held yesterday, it was confirmed that the area will remain closed for the next 48 hours, up to and including Wednesday 1 November.
According to meteorological and hydrological forecasts, the flow of the Iguazu River was expected to reach an abnormal flow of 20,000 cubic meters per second yesterday afternoon.
If rainfall ceases in the area, flows are expected to begin to taper off on Wednesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 2, allowing for assessment of track infrastructure.
Please remember that people who purchase tickets through this website will have the possibility to use those tickets to see Iguazu Falls on their next visit within the next 12 months.
