Vaccine administration will take place at 3,500 vaccination sites across the country, including 1,000 National Health Service (SNS) primary care units and 2,500 pharmacies.

1. What are the options for seasonal vaccination?
These vaccines are recommended for people with disabilities aged 60 or older, health professionals and other caregivers, pregnant women, residential facilities for people with disabilities, continuing care units, home support services and prison facilities. Influenza vaccination is also recommended for chronically ill and immunocompromised patients 6 months of age or older, and COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for patients 5 years of age or older with established risk conditions (such as chronic lung disease, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes).

2. Is vaccination free?
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are free to all people over 60 and other priority groups (defined by the DGS as those at risk of severe illness, hospitalization or death).

3. Do I need a doctor’s prescription?
No, no medical prescription is required.

4. Where can I get vaccinated?
People over the age of 60 can book a vaccination appointment at their usual health center or directly at a community pharmacy or online through an appointment platform. 5. Will you be summoned when a position becomes vacant?
People who fall into the community-defined priority group of under 60s will receive a text message to arrange vaccination based on previous campaigns.

6. Will both vaccines be given at the same time?
The flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine can be given at the same time without any time interval. However, you can choose to be vaccinated later, regardless of any specific interval between the two vaccines.

7. Can I get vaccinated at any pharmacy?
Admission to the pharmacy flu and COVID-19 vaccination events is voluntary. You can consult the list of pharmacies in the pharmacy locator (link to www.farmaciasportuguesas.pt/localizador-de-farmacias) or ask at your usual pharmacy or the nearest pharmacy.

10. Do I have to get both the COVID-19 and flu vaccines, or can I choose just one vaccine?
It is strongly recommended to receive both vaccines at the same time. However, you can choose to get only the flu shot or the COVID-19 vaccine.

If you have never had a Covid-19 vaccine before, it is recommended that you talk to your doctor or contact your health center.

13. I have recently been infected with COVID-19, can you vaccinate me?
No. According to DGS standards, the minimum recommended interval between a seasonal booster dose and a recent event (such as the last dose of a Covid-19 vaccine or a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection) is three months. 12 years or older. Only suitable for children 5 to 11 years and 6 months old.

14. Was there a vaccine booster against COVID-19 last year and do I need to be vaccinated again?
This is recommended given that the vaccine is suitable for protection against currently circulating strains.
