Health workers and people over 65 will receive first doses of vaccine
In the Nueve de Julio area, they have been vaccinated against influenza. The first batch of vaccines has been shipped to health personnel and immunizations are taking place at the Julio de Vedia Interregional Hospital and Primary Health Care Center (CAPS).
The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health emphasizes that the influenza vaccine is the best tool to reduce the human complications of the disease.
Healthcare workers have been receiving vaccines at hospitals since last Friday and will continue to do so during this short week. Then, starting in April, people over 65 and pregnant women will be able to receive the vaccine; starting in the third week of the fourth month of the year, it will reach other parts of the community.
It should be noted that the influenza vaccine is suitable for health workers, people aged 65 and above, pregnant and postpartum people, girls and boys aged 6 to 24 months, and people aged 2 to 64 years with different conditions such as obesity, diabetes, respiratory Patients with disease, heart disease, congenital or acquired immune deficiencies, oncohematological disorders, transplant recipients, or dialysis patients with chronic renal failure.
Initiating influenza vaccination is intended to achieve maximum coverage among each group in the strategy before the strongest cold weather arrives and to protect the most vulnerable from serious complications.
