Serena Williams stars in a new commercial recently released by Lincoln Motor Company.
A new advertising campaign for the 2023 Lincoln Navigator, the brand’s flagship SUV, showcases the vehicle’s new features and advanced driving technologies, including Lincoln BlueCruise, hands-free driver assistance technology designed for highway driving.
Lincoln decided to promote their new model with a music video called “open’, with help from Williams and singer Cleo Saul. The 23-time Grand Slam champion and long-time brand ambassador teased the new ad on her Instagram.
In the music video, a pregnant Serena Williams drives down the highway while imagining a little girl being taught by an instructor how to float face up in the ocean. The tennis icon then sat behind the wheel of a Lincoln Navigator and slowly took his hands off the wheel, while the swim coach also took his hands off the girl.
The ad was filmed just weeks before Williams gave birth to her second daughter, Adira River, in August 2023.
Megan McKenzie, director of marketing communications and marketing for Lincoln America, spoke to Newsweek about the video and the brand’s partnership with Williams.
“We are honored to be a part of a pivotal moment as she embarks on her journey as a family of four and hope Navigator continues to provide her with shelter on and off the road,” said McKenzie. “Serena is a An outstanding athlete, entrepreneur and true brand ambassador for Lincoln and our flagship Navigator SUV.”
