Is ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ a sequel or not? | Matrix | Cinema | CHEKA

Last week, the writers of The Matrix Resurrections, they were solving doubts that are generated around the expected premiere of the film, however, David Mitchell, one of these scriptwriters, left a revelation that would change our perception of this feature film.

And is that most Matrix fans believed that this was a direct sequel to the trilogy starring Keanu Reeves, however, according to the screenwriter, it will work differently.

In the middle of an interview with To Vima, via Screen Rant, Mitchell indicated that this new film is not a sequel, but a film that works independently of the previous Matrix trilogy.

However, he stressed that this plays with history, despite not depending directly on previous productions. At this moment it is difficult to understand what they did with the fourth installment:

“I saw the movie in Berlin in September. It’s very good. I can’t tell you what it’s about, but I can explain what it’s not about. It’s certainly not just another sequel, but something self-contained that contains the three Matrix that precede it in an ingenious way. It is a very beautiful and strange creation. They also managed to do a couple of things that we see in action movies, which means that it subverts the rules of blockbusters, “said the screenwriter.

Without a doubt, the first trailer for the film reminded us of many aspects of the first installments. Some even believed that it was a reboot and not a continuation.

And as if that were not enough, mysteries are also added around the characters, since it is not known exactly why an alternate version of Morpheus would appear, which is known to be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

And although the presence of Agent Smith was confirmed, there is no trace of Hugo Weaving’s involvement. Apparently, we only have to wait to find out about doubts until this December 22, the release date of this great film.
