There is only one certainty in life, but I think we all know that a little. However, before the end of the race, another recurring problem arises: aging. This extra wrinkle, the first white patches, a body that, naturally, is no longer what we had at 18 years old. These details literally strike fear into some people; indeed, there is a term for it: it is called “gerascophobia”, or an abnormal and irrational fear of aging. And in fact there are those who, for example, try different methods, such as cosmetic surgery, to try to stop time.
However, on social media, the public’s reaction to the choices of older people does not force anyone to agree. Why? Take pop queen Madonna, for example, who posts photos and videos on social media that regularly become the subject of public attention. Accused of repeated plastic surgery abuse, some friends explained to the New York Post: “She works hard to stay younger because she likes to feel younger. He hangs out with younger people because he finds people his age boring.” However, this attempt to be “younger” has drawn back criticism. On the other hand, society is split by the ubiquitous fanaticism of those who still want to “feel young,” even perhaps with minor aesthetic adjustments.
A disgust that, in any case, also applies to those who accept the passage of time and do not perceive it as a challenge. Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis are against eliminating facial wrinkles. But there are also those who, for example, don’t even feel the need to dye their hair, like Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend Alexandra Grant. She turned 50 in April and showed off her silver hair on the red carpet during this time. Well, even in this case, there will be those who will recommend paint to her. On the other hand, those who want to give the opportunity to breathe through the mouth, unfortunately, will never let you down. We ask ourselves: is there a way to accept the choices of others without having to express unwanted opinions? We hope so.
