At the beginning of this week, although under some unusual circumstances, the producer of the series confessed how it affected the coronavirus the fifth season of ‘Riverdale’.
The successful series, The CW aired its last episode in the near future, after the production was closed in march due to the pandemic of Covid-19.
With only 19 of the 22 episodes planned able to go on the air, the series is in an interesting place from the fifth season, and now we have a small idea of what that entails.
In a recent interview, the producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa explained how far she had come the season 4 before the closure of the production, and how the episode that finally became in the end was a bit of a blessing in disguise.
“It’s funny, we had recorded nearly two-thirds of the episode 20, that was going to be our episode graduation. And we look at that material and we try to see if there was a way we could improvise that episode“explained Aguirre-Sacasa.
In reality, they had recorded the prom, where many things happen very dramatic, but had not yet recorded a few moments of great characters between Archie and Veronica and Betty and Jughead. “So we were not able to do so“.
“However, when I saw the cut 19, what’s really cool is that all the guys are in a great history together against Mr. Honey. And ends in a surprising and disturbing finel”, continued Aguirre-Sacasa.
But, in response to how it affected the coronavirus the fifth season of ‘Riverdale’the producer is that the prom would be a grand premiere of the season the next year.
“Obviously we would have loved to finish the entire season, and the last three episodes are fantastic. But for me, this is fun. It is a special concept, and unites all, which I think people will love it“said the producer.
According to Aguirre-Sacasa, the program will pick up definitely key moments such as the prom, in terms of the development of the fifth season.
