Back in the summer of 2016, Kevin Durant settled into a house in the Hamptons and hosted interested parties as NBA free agency arrived. We all know how that turned out – Durant teamed up with the Golden State Warriors to go 73-9, breaking every NBA tie in years and creating arguably the greatest franchise of all time . Because of his decision, the legacy of the players, the organization, and the league itself was irreversibly changed. It’s also one of the most disappointing things in basketball history, because Durant could have gone many places to challenge the Warriors for the top spot, but instead chose to lock it in for four years.
It turns out that there is only one person to blame for all this – Tom Brady. Durant’s agent Rich Kleiman revealed that Brady came to Hampton to try to recruit the MVP to the Boston Celtics. However, he also told Durant to stop where he has the best chance of winning.
Hilariously enough, if the Celtics bring Jae Crowder and Kelly Olynyk and Pat Riley and Gregg Popovich arrive at the same time, Durant would even let the Celtics The team comes in. Boston was playing well at the time, but were they the only two guys available for Kevin Durant’s recruitment? They never had a chance.
Regardless, this is just another reason to hate Tom Brady. This guy just loves seeing Goliath defeat David.
