Jaylen draws comparisons to Tom Brady after scoring clutch touchdown in Eagles’ overtime win over Buffalo

Jalen Hurts has been so good in Philadelphia that the Eagles quarterback is already being compared to Tom Brady.

This season, the Eagles barely lost in Super Bowl 57, with Hurts playing through an injured knee and helping Philadelphia to an NFL-best 10-1 record.

Hurts stole the show against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, scoring the game-winning 12-yard touchdown in overtime in a 37-34 victory.

“They always talk about Tom Brady on late drives — I hope Jalen starts getting that name,” Eagles veteran guard Brandon Graham said. “I’m glad he came in and sealed the deal with a winning performance.

“Keep them coming. We like to give it to him at the end and give us a chance.”

Hurts is the leading candidate for NFL MVP, completing 18 of 31 passes for 200 yards, three touchdowns and a 96.2 rating.

He also rushed 14 times for 65 yards and two touchdowns.

“You know he’s clutch,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said. “He’s been the key to us, the key to this city, the key to this team the last three years. He just keeps going and puts his head down and gets to work.”

Hurts became the second NFL quarterback since 1950 to start 10-1 or better in 11 consecutive games.

Last year, Philadelphia went 14-3 and Hurts emerged as one of the most promising young players in the league.

His command has been even better this year, turning his dual-threat talents into a true all-around player for the Eagles.

“Not enough for the standard I want to be at,” Hurts said.

Brady ended his storied career with seven Super Bowl rings and helped build a dynasty with the New England Patriots.

So comparing Hurts to the greatest quarterbacks in history is overall off target, especially since Brady won a world championship in his first season as a starter and never looked back.

But Hurts is clearly special for Philadelphia and has become the face of the franchise for the Eagles.

Like Brady, Hurts is at his best when the lights are brightest on the field.

“What do you want me to say?” Hurts said as cameras awaited the final statement.
