Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in the movie Unstoppable. Which tells a (true) story of redemption through sport

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck met in 2003 on the set of the romantic comedy Extreme loveby Martin Brest, a film that marked the beginning of their fluctuating love story, which finally led to marriage in July 2022. The following year Extreme lovein 2004, they starred together a second time in another rom-com, Jersey Girlby Kevin Smith. Almost twenty years later, a new film sees them together once again on a professional level, she on the screen, he producing. The film is called Unstoppable and marks the directorial debut of William Goldenberg, master editor and old acquaintance of Ben Affleck, with whom he collaborated on the beautiful (and award-winning) Argon

(2012). The film is based on the book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Championautobiography of American athlete Anthony Robles, a wrestler who, although born with only one leg, won the 2010-11 NCAA individual wrestling championship in the 125 lb weight class. Unstoppable it will therefore be an opportunity to see Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck together again for a film, even if their collaboration will take place behind the scenes, not on the set.

Produced by Artists Equity, a company founded in November 2022 by Ben Affleck and his friend Matt Damon, Unstoppable it is only the most recent of the various projects born from the collaboration between the two Hollywood stars. In fact, it will be out soon Air – The story of the great leap, the first work of the new production company, a film that traces the extraordinary story of Sonny Vaccaro, one of the founders of Nike as well as a marketing expert, who in the 80s managed the incredible feat of convincing one of the greatest athletes ever, basketball player Michael Jordan, to sign a contract with his company, thus marking the beginning of the latter’s meteoric rise in the sportswear market. Directed by Ben Affleck and starring, among others, Matt Damon and Viola Davis, as well as by Affleck himself, the film will be released on April 5 in American cinemas and the following day in Italian ones.
