Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were spotted grabbing a bite to eat with their daughters just three days before she filed a lawsuit against him in federal court.

The couple, who welcomed their first child Willa in 2020 and their second daughter last year, were photographed dining with their children at Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City on Monday, according to images published by TMZ.

The dinner took place three days before Turner sued Jonas for “wrongfully detaining” their daughters.

According to court documents filed in Manhattan District Court on Thursday and reviewed by Insider, Turner asked to return the children to their “forever home” in England, her home country, where she said the family officially moved in April.

Turner’s petition before their split said she and Jonas had found a “beautiful vacation property” and planned to complete the purchase by the end of the year.

Representatives for Jonas, who filed for divorce on September 5, told Insider that since the singer filed for divorce in Florida, “a Florida court has already entered an order prohibiting both parents from relocating the children.”

However, the Game of Thrones star’s petition said Jonas only agreed to keep the children until Turner finished filming the new drama series on September 14, after which she would return them to the family’s rental property in England.

Jonas and Turner initially described their split as a “united decision” in a joint statement posted to Instagram on September 6.

But according to Turner’s petition, their marriage ended “very suddenly” and she learned through the media that Jonas had filed for divorce.

On September 17, the former couple met to discuss their split. According to Turner’s motion, Jonas made it clear at the meeting that he “refuses to send the children home” and that he has their passports.

In a statement to Insider, Jonas’s reps confirmed the meeting but said he was “under the impression” that they had reached an amicable atmosphere for co-parenting. His representatives said he wants their daughters to be raised by both parents “in the US and UK.”

Following the split, some celebrities came forward with demonstrations and words of support for Turner.

On Friday, Turner’s former Dark Phoenix co-star Jessica Chastain made it clear where her loyalties lie. repost of Roxane Gay A social media post accusing Jonas of “PR manipulation.”

“The way Joe Jonas miscalculated his popularity due to his transparent attempts at PR manipulation, especially when the North remembers, is AMAZING,” Gaye said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “And keep the children’s passports to hide them from their mother?”

Reposting the post, Chastain wrote that Gaye is an “Oracle.”

Another celebrity who appears to be siding with Turner is Taylor Swift, who famously dated Jonas as a teenager.

Earlier this week, Turner and Swift were photographed at Italian restaurant Via Carota in New York’s West Village. In photos published by Just Jared, the couple was seen holding hands and smiling as they arrived at the restaurant.
