According to some fans, Johnny Depp may not actually be in the new film being touted as his comeback film.
Over the past few years, Johnny Depp has retreated from Hollywood and huge franchises such as Pirates of the Caribbean And Fantastic Beasts, making him one of the richest and most famous actors in the world. The show is a spin-off Dead endschildren’s animated series on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video from Iervolino Entertainment, which itself was a spin-off Arctic dogs (2019), an animated family film starring the voices of Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin and James Franco.
However, what Reddit commenters noticed was Dead ends and, in a broader sense, Johnny Puff: Secret Mission, is that it doesn’t seem to involve intelligible human dialogue at all. While Johnny Depp’s name is heavily used to promote the film, it is also notable that at no point in the film does the trailer show his animated character speaking.
In a promotional video for Johnny Puff: Secret MissionJohnny Depp claimed that his dialogue was spliced with the sounds of real puffins to create a kind of ersatz language spoken by the animated birds. The film’s IMDb page lists no other vocal performers other than Depp.
However, other online commentators suggest that Dead ends This could be a payoff for frequent collaborator Tim Burton, saying: “Assuming Depp only voiced one Puffin, at the end of the episode I had no idea which Puffin was ‘Johnny Puffin’ and neither of them made a sound where I thought, “Oh, this is definitely Johnny Depp grumbling. So I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he (or he’s an investor in the company) was paid to just put his name on there and didn’t have to do even the bare minimum.”
