Fans express their support for Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin after the couple was apparently subjected to chants of “Selena” while posing on the red carpet at the 2021 Met Gala.
On Monday, the couple, who have been married since September 2018, arrived for the annual Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, with the “Peaches” singer wearing a black Drew suit, while that his wife opted for a long black Saint Laurent dress.
However upon his arrival, audience members began chanting the name of Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, whom he separated from in early 2018 after several years of intermittent dating, according to a video posted on Twitter.
In the viral video you can see Bieber and Baldwin climbing the steps of the Met, while Gomez fans, who did not attend, sing “Selena.”
The video that was captioned: “What the fuck? The selenators they are so obsessed, leave him alone ”, has been viewed more than 250,000 times, prompting many to defend the couple.
“This is not right. Why would people do this ??? WHY ??? I think Selena would not be happy about this. Try harder guys. Be nice,” one person tweeted.
Another said, “This is so stupid, people need to leave that dead relationship behind.”

While neither Bieber nor Baldwin have commented on the situation, the “Yummy” singer previously defended his wife from Gomez fans on Instagram, after a fan urged people to intimidate Baldwin while the couple was out. doing an Instagram Live.
