K. Michelle accused Nicki Minaj of stealing a song she recorded with Meek Mill, as well as a necklace he once gave her.
During an extensive interview about Tank and J. Valentine R&B money podcast, the Memphis singer explained how her 2014 album Anyone want to buy a heart? brought to life before delving into what really happened between her, Nicki and Mick.
“Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart was on Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj’s mean ass took it away from me,” K. Michelle said. “Atlantic Records brought me to Meek Mill because he needed love songs. He shot people in songs; he needs something good to love.”
She continued: “And so he turned on this record – it wasn’t on his album. I said, “Oh, you’re sleeping on this.” So I got the recording. I asked August (Alsina) and everyone to join the record and that’s when I found out (Mick and Nicki) were dating.
“I never slept with Mick or anything like that. And then they were like: she wanted to take the record from me and said that she had to take his chain from me. And I never did any of this. I’ve always loved her.”
K. Michelle revealed that although the record eventually appeared on Nicki Minaj’s album, Pinkprint under the slightly reworked title “Buy a Heart”, she eventually took the title of her original collaboration with Meek Mill for her second album.
However, K. Michelle’s claims against Nicki Minaj were quickly called into question after fans dug up an old tweet in which she appeared to reference the record and support the Young Money hitmaker.
“I heard that a song that wasn’t on my album would be one of my favorites (smiling face emoji with sunglasses),” she wrote at the time. “So excited! Love her (red heart emoji).”
An old photo of the “Can’t Raise a Man” singer rocking one of Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers chains, which she said was “taken” by Nicki, was also discovered.

K. Michelle has never had a problem expressing what’s on her mind. During a radio interview earlier this year, she revealed that she had fired more than 100 personal assistants during her career.
“I couldn’t hang two TVs when six people came into the house, I didn’t know how to run the cords in the walls,” she explained. “Six different people in my house didn’t know how to hang a TV and wanted $2,000 a week. I said I would pay $1,600 a week.”
Michelle went on to explain why the assistant was fired, saying, “I remember one day I asked, ‘Can you book a place for 5 hours for four people?’ She came and said: “I booked a table for 4 o’clock.”
