English actress Kate Winslet, known for her roles in films such as “The Reader”, for which she received an Oscar, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Titanic”, plays the role of a detective in the miniseries “Sea of Easttown” who will be released by HBO in April, writes News.
A teaser for this production created by Brad Inglesby, who is also executive producer, was released on Wednesday.
The miniseries focuses on Mare Sheehan, a Pennsylvania detective trying to solve a crime while struggling to find balance in his personal life.
Julianne Nicholson plays Mare’s best friend and Evan Peters plays the score of a local detective who must help her solve the crime. Jean Smart is Mare’s mother and Angourie Rice her daughter.
They are joined by actors Cailee Spaeny, Guy Pearce, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Sosie Bacon, Patrick Murney, James McArdle, Joe Tippett, Neal Huff, Phyllis Somerville and Drew Scheid.
Filming for the series began in 2019, but was delayed due to the pandemic. Production resumed a few months later in the suburbs of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia.
Craig Zobel has directed and is executive producer of the show alongside Gavin O’Connor, Gordon Gray, Paul Lee, Mark Roybal and Kate Winslet.
The ministry will debut on April 18.
