Katie Gregson-McLeod is back with her new EP. BIG RED via Arista Records. The new EP focuses on one short but intense relationship, continuing the vulnerable and captivating songwriting we’ve all come to love from Katy. Beautifully tying together the narrative of previously released singles “Your EX” and “Guestlist,” the EP dives into a whirlwind romance, bringing the entire project together.
Along with the release of the EP, Katy also released her new single, “September.” Speaking about the track, Katie said: “It was clear to me that September should come first. It’s about new beginnings and leaving old flames behind for this person. It’s a song about recklessness and changeability, and about meeting someone who can help you realize what you’ve been missing.”
Originally from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, Katie’s frank songwriting and stunning vocal abilities have quickly gained a global audience. Following the success of her breakthrough single “Complex (demo)”, which turned one year old this month. The song quickly became a viral TikTok phenomenon, inspiring cover versions by the likes of Camila Cabello, King Princess, Madison Beer, Tom Walker and others, with The New York Times declaring that “in just a couple of days, ‘complex’ became a trigger.” for what felt like a global group hug.” Katie has since been nominated for the prestigious Ivor Novello Songwriting Award and was selected as one of BBC Scotland’s 25 Artists to Watch in 2022. She has also been selected as MTV UK’s Push Artist of 2022 and one of NME’s 100 Essential Artists of 2023.
