In an interview with Good Morning America, Katy returned to talk about new music in production that will see the light of day sooner or later.
“I haven’t released any new material since my dear Daisy was born. I think I write a lot and wrote a lot about love, because I feel it very much – so much unconditional love, the kind of love that I did not know existed.
He also said he would be back but wants to make it right: “I’m always writing, I’ve always been writing, but I think it’s really important for me to celebrate the world that I’ve built with all these wonderful songs in charge of life. I’ll be back, but I want to do it well.”
Perry added that after his Las Vegas residency is over, he wants to tour again with “new music”. Finally, he talked about his songwriting process.
“I like to meditate before I write a song so it’s open and clear and everything I need to go through me so the pen flows.” “Sometimes I like to go on a real emotional and psychological journey when I’m writing an album. I’m processing some of my emotions and maybe some issues that I need to work through. Sometimes I go back into therapy to process things and use my music for that, when I start writing new music it’s a real emotional and inner exploration.”
