Kendall Jenner, the anti-Coachella look that revolutionizes the dress code of the festival

Kendall Jenner at Coachella shows off a look of chic minimalism

Kendall Jenner has been going to Coachella for almost a decade, but this year she changed her style for the occasion and left behind the suede fringes and boho laces. Outfits typically associated with Coachella can easily drift into the obvious or the overkill, but Jenner proved that sometimes the coolest thing to do is wear a T-shirt, avoiding sparkly items.

The model attended the annual festival held on the massive desert esplanade of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on the two central weekends in April to promote her brand, Tequila 818. Her stylist Dani Michelle created a look that it’s the antithesis of everything you’d expect from Coachella style: nothing fancy, glittery and see-through, and a decidedly distinctive approach.

Jenner wore black trousers with a frayed hem at the waist (noticeably low) and a black tank with cut-outs, both by St Agni (FW 2023 collection), an Australian brand loved for its relaxed style and modern silhouettes. The essence of minimalism is all in the details and attention to shape, as demonstrated by the unexpected raw edges and cut-outs at the waist.

Instead of the classic sneakers or boots that, for example, we expect to represent the style of a British music festival, Kendall Jenner wore a pair of flat leather sandals with crossed straps and a ring around the big toe, always St Agni, and completed the outfit with a 90s-style black leather shoulder mini bag and a swipe of lip liner. A look that ushers in a new, more minimalist era of festival style.
