Kylian Mbappe’s mum gives Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo admission

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe’s mother has admitted he once wore a Manchester United shirt with Cristiano Ronaldo’s name on the back.

Fayza Lamari has been reflecting on her son’s childhood, detailing the various football shirts he wore as a youngster. As well as donning a Manchester United shirt from time to time, he has also worn the shirts of Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Rennes.

Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2017. His move to the Ligue 1 giants means a return to the capital, where the 24-year-old played for Paris Bondi as a boy.

Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal as Paris Saint-Germain beat AC Milan 3-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Lamari expressing his son’s love for football ahead of the game. He has scored 10 goals in 11 games so far this season.

“He wears it (his Milan jersey) in training and even to sleep,” Lamari said. “But like so many others: Real Madrid, France, PSG, Manchester United all chose CR7 (Cristiano Ronaldo). He likes top strikers, but he could also wear Rennes’ (Swiss striker Alexander) Fo Ray’s jersey.”

Although he was born in Paris and grew up in nearby Bondi, it was Milan that attracted Mbappe’s attention the most. Lamari continued: “He is the son of an athlete, but he was immersed in the atmosphere of cheering for Milan from the beginning. When he comes home, he only talks about Milan. If Milan loses, he can throw the remote control Go on the TV and say a few dirty words in Italian.”
