Lady Gaga denied $500,000 reward in dog-napping case

In a highly publicized and unusual dog euthanization case, a court has ruled that Lady Gaga is not required to pay the $500,000 reward she offered for the safe return of her beloved dogs.

Back in February 2021, Lady Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was ambushed and shot four times while walking his three French bulldogs. Despite his valiant efforts to protect the dogs, two of them, Gustav and Koji, were kidnapped, leaving Fischer bleeding to death on the sidewalk. However, Miss Asia managed to escape and was later found by the police.

To facilitate the return of her pets, Gaga generously offered a hefty reward. Jennifer McBride, the woman who eventually turned in the dogs, was later found to be an accomplice in the theft. She was subsequently charged with robbery and accessory to attempted murder.

McBride took the opportunity to propose to Gaga when the reward was not delivered as promised. Claiming that she found the dogs tied to a lamppost, she demanded not only $500,000, but also another $1.5 million in damages. Her legal team argued that Gaga’s failure to pay was fraudulent and caused mental anguish to their client.

However, in July, a court ruled that because of McBride’s involvement in the theft, her case against Gaga was unfounded. McBride was given a suspended sentence after being found guilty of receiving stolen property.

The court issued its final decision yesterday, confirming that McBride’s amended complaint did not change the outcome. The case was officially closed, leaving McBride no opportunity to reconsider her allegations.

The Dognap saga came to an end after justice was served: James Howard Jackson, who shot Fisher and took the dogs, was sentenced to 21 years in prison for attempted murder.

Lady Gaga can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that she won’t have to part with half a million dollars to reward those who did this deed.
