According to SI.com’s Tarek Fattal, LeBron James’ son Bryce James is attending Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks ahead of the 2023-24 season ( Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks) and has transferred back to Sierra Canyon High School.
Bryce James spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Sierra Canyon before transferring to Notre Dame this year.
Fattal reported that the junior “officially deregistered and returned to school and basketball gear early Tuesday to Notre Dame” and will be “immediately eligible to attend Sierra Canyon under ABA rules in the CIF Southern Section Contest.”
He will be ineligible for the first half of Notre Dame’s season because transfer rules only provide a waiver for a change of address. However, since he did not play in any games for Notre Dame, he will be immediately eligible for Sierra Canyon.
There are reports that James will leave Sierra Canyon before the start of the 2023-24 season and head to Campbell Hall in Studio City before a brief stint at Notre Dame.
As a sophomore, James didn’t get much time to play for Sierra Canyon, averaging 3.8 points in 12 college games. He played those seasons with his older brother, Bronny, who is now at USC but has yet to play in any games while recovering from surgery for a potential congenital heart defect after suffering cardiac arrest in July.
He is currently considered a three-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and is listed as the No. 135 prospect, No. 21 shooting guard and No. 16 player out of the state of California.
He had offers from Duquesne University and Ohio State University.
