Tyson Fury vs. Fury A Controversial Decision The Francis Ngannou fight gave Fury a split decision and all of social media was getting involved. Among them was Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who made his feelings clear:

“That’s why I don’t watch boxing! “Come on man! ” James wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Given his status as a former UFC heavyweight champion, Ngannou was an underdog against the legendary Fury and shocked fans when he knocked him out in the third round with a vicious left hand.

While Ngannou didn’t receive an official victory, he still performed better than other MMA fighters who have competed in crossover boxing matches. What’s even more amazing is that this is Ngannou’s first boxing match and first fight in 22 months.

One judge gave former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou a score of 95-94, but was overruled by Fury’s scores of 96-93 and 95-94. Fury’s WBC heavyweight title was not within reach in this 10-round boxing match.

When the Lakers aren’t playing, LeBron isn’t shy about participating in other sports broadcasts. Like most people, he thinks Ngannou won the fight fair and square. Boxing has been plagued by uneven scoring, questionable judgments and allegedly unfair rulings that have plagued the sport over the years. Mixed martial arts (MMA) has seized on this decline and become a must-see for many combat sports fans.

Lakers star LeBron James is certainly not the only one who avoids boxing because of these issues. Maybe the celebrity outcry against Ngannou and Fury can spur some change. But even if it doesn’t, there’s no guarantee LeBron will watch.
