Violent explosions were heard today, Tuesday, in the Al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which is the largest base of the international coalition in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
There was no information on the causes of the explosions.
While the Observatory indicated that American military bases within Syrian territory are witnessing intense military training recently, coinciding with the escalation of marching attacks by factions loyal to Iran.
Numerous deaths and injuries occurred among factions loyal to Iran on Friday following American strikes on faction positions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
In a statement on Friday, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) quoted Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin as saying that US forces launched strikes against two facilities in eastern Syria used by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its affiliated groups .
Constant attacks
Austin said the strikes come in response to the ongoing series of attacks on American personnel in Syria and Iraq by Iranian-backed armed groups.
This comes after the escalation of attacks on American bases inside Syrian territory by militias marching in retaliation through Gaza.
In recent days, militias have carried out attacks against “International Coalition” forces within their bases in northern and eastern Syria, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored, since October 19, 15 attacks against the “International Coalition” bases, distributed as follows: 3 on the Al-Tanf base, 4 on the base of the Al-Omar oil field, 3 on the base of the Koniko gas field, 1 on the American base of Rubarba in the countryside of the city of Al- Malikiyah, 2 in Kharab Al-Jir Barrel base and 2 in Al-Shaddadi base.
