Kevin Durant and LeBron James will share the same court for regular season games. It’s been just five years since the last two all-time greats faced off in three Finals, a lengthy delay caused by injuries. NBAThey looked at each other.
Their teams have gone 13 games without LeBron and Durant facing off. They also missed three All-Star Games. They last met on Christmas Day 2018, Durant’s final season with the Warriors and LeBron’s first with the Lakers, and the Lakers won by 26 points.
Their history is rich: LeBron went 15-6 in the regular season, Durant went 9-5 in the playoffs. Durant won back-to-back championships against LeBron (LeBron scored 51 points in his first game in 2018); LeBron defeated Durant and the Thunder a decade ago.
In their games together, Durant averaged 29.8 points per game and LeBron averaged 29.6 points per game.
Since that Christmas meeting, Durant has changed teams twice. Clearly, both players have aged and somehow neither has been a victim of Father Time. So, Thursday at Crypto Arena, the Suns take on the Rockets. Lakers, Durant and LeBron.
