LeBron James joins hands with Nike to release new colorways of Nike LeBron 21

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently announced a partnership with Nike for his 21st signature sneaker, as he remains the Lakers’ most famous athlete. His lifetime contract means we’ll see countless LeBron model releases over the next few years, and Nike keeps things fresh with new concepts each time. Just recently, Nike announced two upcoming new colorways of the Nike LeBron 21.

Nike is releasing a slew of basketball sneakers this holiday season, including new and retro versions of classic signature models from players like James, Kevin Durant and the late Kobe Bryant. Just recently, Nike announced that LeBron’s fourth sneaker, the Nike LeBron 4, is returning in a classic colorway. Just a week later, Nike has announced two more colorways for LeBron’s latest model. The first pair is called “Akoya”, named after a special type of oyster with pearls. The shoe was inspired by James’ daughter Zhuri and is shaped like an oyster shell. The upper is finished in Pearl White with vibrant Orange accents on the shoe’s logo and heel. The official color code is Light Bone/Campfire Orange-Azure-Pink-Dark Brown. They will release on September 28, 2023 and will retail for $200. They will be available on the Nike SNKRS app and at various Nike retailers.

The second pair will follow a similar theme and will be appropriately named “Abalone Pearls.” While the first pair resembled an oyster shell, this pair will mimic the priceless pearls inside an oyster and feature a crazy blue and green upper. The pattern on the upper is iridescent and looks like reflections of light reflecting off the sea water and pearls. The outsole will be navy blue, which extends all the way to the tongue and insole. No official version has been announced yet, but you can expect these to follow similar builds to their counterparts.

If you can get your hands on one of these, then you’ll obviously have to pick up the other to complete this great pair of sneakers. It will be interesting to see what other concepts the Nike team comes up with for LeBron James this upcoming season.
