The Los Angeles Lakers have released their injury report ahead of Monday night’s game against the Orlando Magic.
The team has listed superstar LeBron James as possible for the game due to tendinitis in his left ankle. He was joined by Rui Hachimura (possible left eye contusion) and Cam Reddish (possible right foot soreness).
The Lakers won’t have Jared Vanderbilt (heel out) or rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino (right patellar contusion, out) for the game.
James is listed as possible good news for the Lakers as the team heads into overtime against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
With Monday’s game being the second night of a back-to-back, it’s nice to see James appear to be able to give it a try considering his likely status.
The four-time NBA champion had a huge game on Sunday, scoring 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting (3-for-8 from 3-point range) while also adding 15 rebounds and eight assists. . This is James’ highest score in a single game this season.
The Lakers reportedly have a new plan to manage James’ minutes this season, but he has played 35 or more minutes in each of the team’s past two games. He may not see as much work in Monday’s game.
Hachimura also played his best game of the new season, scoring a season-high 11 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in the loss to the Kings. Hachimura has only scored 13 points combined in the team’s first two games of the 2023-24 season.
With the Lakers losing two of their first three games of the season, the team will be looking to get back into the winning column on Monday, especially since it appears that neither James nor Anthony Davis will miss this game to rest.
The Magic enter this game 2-0 on the season. They defeated the Houston Rockets in the season opener and then the Portland Trail Blazers in their final game.
Orlando is on a four-game road trip with games against Portland, Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz.
