LeBron James says ‘there will be time’ to respond to current NBA champion Nuggets over last season’s trash talk

LeBron James became the target of disparaging remarks early in his career. Given his high-profile status and popularity, it’s no surprise that he was a prime target. Specifically, over the past few months, LeBron has been in the crosshairs of two of his playoff opponents from last season. Dillon Brooks’ collapse with the Grizzlies was not only entertaining at the time, but will likely become an unforgettable part of LeBron’s career.

LeBron, as usual, has been mostly silent about it. Aside from a few Instagram posts directed at Brooks and Denver, LeBron has not responded to either situation regardless of what the media says. When asked on Saturday if he would push back on the verbal attacks, especially coming from Brooks and the Nuggets, LeBron responded, quoting Fox Sports’ Melissa Rollin: “One day I There will be a response. I don’t know when that time will be. Maybe not yet. But one day, everyone will have an answer.”

Despite receiving a great deal of criticism, especially in the latter stages of his career, LeBron rarely interacted verbally with the media. This gritty endurance was very noticeable in the series against the Grizzlies, when Brooks fired volleys at any opportunity while LeBron and the Lakers as a whole deliberately chose not to retaliate.

LeBron James’ enduring desire to succeed and win

Following the retirements of Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala, LeBron James is now officially the NBA’s oldest active player. However, those who expect Father Time to do him harm may have to wait longer.

In the preseason, James showed impressive physical activity. Although he only appeared in three of the Los Angeles Lakers’ six preseason games, he was noticeably back to his usual style each time he chose to showcase his offensive abilities. Additionally, James remained motivated to compete at a high level and, of course, won his fifth NBA championship.

Often, it is not the physical ability of older top athletes that declines first, but their drive, ambition and energy for the sport. Last season, James seemed to jokingly consider retiring in public, but later claimed he would extend his career a few weeks later.
