It’s no secret in the NBA that Dillon Brooks calls himself LeBron James’ rival. It started when Brooks called James “old” in the first round of last season’s playoffs, then hit James in the groin and was ejected in Game 3.
Ahead of Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets at Crypto.com Arena, Brooks reiterated his comments from April, saying he still feels James is “old.”
But the 38-year-old didn’t look his age at all on Sunday as he was extremely efficient and helped Los Angeles lead the Rockets 6-4 in the second half. He scored on Brooks late in the third quarter and then emphatically made a “too small” gesture to the mercurial forward.
This is the first game of the Lakers’ three-game winning streak at home. They’ll have a game on Wednesday against Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, a team that’s gotten off to a fast start this season.
