Young Bronny James, son of superstar NBA LeBron JamesHe received medical clearance to return to basketball four months after suffering a cardiac arrest during a college team practice, his family reported.
“Bronny James has now been cleared by his doctors to fully return to the basketball court,” the James family said in a statement.
The 19-year-old plans to return to practice with the University of Southern California (USC) team next week.
“Bronny will undergo final evaluation with USC staff this week and will return to practice next week and return to competition shortly,” the text message read.
Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest during training last July. When the incident became public a day later, the promising forward had left the intensive care unit and was discharged 48 hours later.
Bronny, one of the biggest and most popular figures in high school basketball, announced in May that he would spend this season at USC, expected to be his last before entering the NBA draft.
