James first purchased the property in 2020 in the prestigious neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Listed at $39 million, he managed to lower the asking price of the 2.5-acre parcel by $2 million.

The original four-bedroom home was built in the 1930s and included eight bathrooms, two separate guesthouses, seven fireplaces, a tennis court, a movie theater, a swimming pool and a pool house.

The Mediterranean-style home offers views of Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean, but it seems James envisioned a better way to make the most of the stunning views.

The foundations for the new home are beginning to take shape and part of the new property appears to have been built into the hillside.

Elsewhere pillars have been built at the edge of the property and retaining walls are in place.

Once completed, this will be the crown jewel of James’ real estate portfolio.

Since 2017, he has also owned a $23 million mansion in Brentwood, California.

This is the James family’s primary residence, with 16,000 square feet and eight bedrooms and eleven bathrooms.

The house also includes creature comforts such as a cinema, wine cellar, cigar room and spa with steam room, sauna and massage room.

James also owns a $9 million home in his hometown of Ohio.

Purchased in 2003 for $2.1 million, the 30,000-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

It’s also not short of creature comforts, such as a two-lane bowling alley, recording studio, movie theater, aquarium and barber shop.

James is currently preparing for his 21st season in the NBA.

As the league’s oldest active player, his reaction when he found out he reached this milestone recently went viral.
