inside lakers‘The second game of the season against suns Los Angeles head coach Davon Hamm only plans to draft forwards Thursday night LeBron James Play for 30 minutes.
The NBA’s all-time scoring leader added 10 points in the fourth quarter of Los Angeles’ 100-95 win and finished with 21 points, eight rebounds and nine assists while going about five minutes over the playing time limit.
When discussing the win with reporters after the game, James clearly had no regrets as his career playing time increased from 54,152 to 54,157.
“(Hamm) asked me if I could play (the whole) quarter and I looked at the time and the score and what was going on in the game and it was an easy answer for myself,” James said.
Los Angeles looked to avoid an 0-2 start but trailed 84-72 at the start of the fourth quarter.
“I know how much hard work I put in to be able to play in the quarterfinals or whatever happens. I know we definitely have a system in place, but tonight required me to think outside the box,” James said.
Unfortunately for James (now the oldest active player in basketball) and the Lakers, their schedule isn’t going to get any easier in the near future; Los Angeles Visit king on Sunday.
