LeBron James talks to Shaddell Sanders, Travis Hunter after game

CU Buffs football players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter got a lot of attention, but it was they who got the most star attention Tuesday night.

The two attended the Denver Nuggets’ home opener, an unforgettable night that saw the team receive championship rings and raise banners in the rafters.

What’s even more special is that the Nuggets easily defeated LeBron James and the Lakers, proving that their sweep of the Western Conference Finals was no fluke.

But for Sanders and Hunter, the best part of the night might have been after the game. Bleacher Report shared a clip of James talking to the pair, and let’s just say they were excited.

“Love you all boys,” James told the duo.

“You’ve got to send us your jersey, you’ve got to let us do it right,” Sanders told James.

“Ahhhhh!” Hunter finally sighed.

It’s a good reminder that Sanders and Hunter may be fairly famous themselves, but they’re still just college students. Sanders is 21 years old and Hunter is 20 years old. It’s a pretty cool moment to see James at 38, almost twice their age. He was the Michael Jordan of his generation.

While James lost to Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets last night, the scalpers hope to avoid more of this. After a disastrous 2OT loss to Stanford in their last outing, their chances of making a bowl appearance seemed to hang in the balance.

They face UCLA on Saturday, a game they need to win 4-3. Who knows, maybe James will return the favor and stay in the building? The Lakers had the night off.
