LeBron James talks what he learned from Jason Kidd

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recorded his 108th career triple-double on Wednesday night, surpassing Hall of Fame point guard and former Lakers assistant Jason Kidd for fourth place on the NBA’s all-time list.

There are some similarities between James and Kidd’s games, as they are two of the greatest playmakers in NBA history. They also played together on Team USA and faced off multiple times throughout their careers, including in the 2011 NBA Finals. Kidd was also an assistant coach with the 2020 NBA championship Lakers, further strengthening their bond.

It’s no surprise that LeBron learned something from Kidd’s game, and after Wednesday’s game, the Lakers star discussed what he learned from the current Dallas Mavericks head coach.

“No matter what, make your teammates better,” LeBron said. “You can never do it alone, you can never do it alone. And communication. I think those two things I learned from him and were able to apply.”

These are undoubtedly huge strengths in LeBron’s game that he has developed over the course of his career. There are some players who bring out the best in everyone, and Kidd and LeBron are two of them. Likewise, communication is also James’ strong suit, and he is always able to say exactly what he wants and needs from his teammates and coaches.

However, there was one thing that LeBron couldn’t incorporate into himself, but Kidd did.

“The third thing I’ve been unable to apply for and will never be able to apply for is patience,” the Lakers star added. “It’s not in my nature. But he did a good job with it. “So two out of three. “

Some players are able to stay calm and patient, while others want things to be done right and right away. LeBron falls into the latter camp, but it works out for him and he made the right decision considering the success he’s had in his career.

Unfortunately for LeBron James, that performance didn’t lead to victory, as the Sacramento Kings handed the Lakers their first home loss of the season. A lot of mistakes were made, but with so many games to play in a short period of time, LeBron figured it was best not to dwell on the matter for too long.

“I think we’ll watch it a little bit, if not tomorrow or Friday, I think when we have a shootaround or a meeting,” James said. “But like you said, we have so many games that are coming out very soon, and they’re going to take off.

“It’s been four nights and three nights. We play Friday. We play Sunday. We’ve got a lot of games to play. You can learn from some of your mistakes. You can learn from some of the good things that you’ve done. But then You just keep going.”
