Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is entering his 21st season in the NBA and has accomplished just about every feat a player can accomplish in his career. Not only is he a lock for the Hall of Fame, but he’s a lock for one of the greatest players in NBA history. So as he enters his 21st season, he’s looking for new things to try in the game.
His latest inspiration comes from Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas, who joins the ranks of Major League Baseball players on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball Baseball) use of microphones in broadcasts. During each Sunday game, a defensive player will be on the microphone during half the inning, talking to the announcers as they go about their normal course of each inning.
James reportedly saw Rojas hold up the mic moment during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants and expressed his interest in doing something similar for the Lakers this season on social media. MLB Life:

The NBA has long equipped players with microphones, but they haven’t used them the way MLB does during games, where players speak on the broadcast as the game is going on. Typically in the NBA, players are miced and highlights are played in their own segments.
It would be an interesting twist to see James talking to commentators while analyzing defenses or shouting orders to teammates while trying to stop opponents. Fans will be able to get real-time analysis from players who are actually playing in the games.
In the Major League Baseball (MLB) version, the players made great plays while talking to the broadcast, resulting in some great moments. Of course, the more stationary nature of baseball makes something like this easier compared to the constant motion of basketball.
But if anyone can successfully comment on his own behavior during a basketball game, it’s James.
The Lakers announced that media day will be officially held next Monday (October 2). This marks the official start of training camp, where players will take questions for the first time, culminating in the preseason and then the start of the regular season. season, will be held on October 24th.
