In 2019, King suffered a heart attack, and in 2017 he underwent cancer treatment. He was also diagnosed with diabetes.
The host conducted about 50,000 interviews with politicians, businessmen, and celebrities. From 1985 to 2010, King worked for CNN, where he hosted the popular Larry King Live show (the program entered the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running show with a permanent host), since 2012, he hosted the Larry King Now show on Hulu.
“ Although it was his name that appeared in the titles of the show, Larry always considered the real stars of the programs of the interviewees, and himself – just an impartial intermediary between the guest and the audience. Whether it was an interview with a US president, a foreign leader, a celebrity, an odious character, or an ordinary person, Larry liked to ask short, direct, and uncomplicated questions. He believed that short questions usually gave the best answers, and he was not mistaken about that, ”says Ora Media’s obituary.
