Lei Ann Speaks, Here’s “Death Heart” on Pop Label Records / JayWork Music Group

We interviewed Lei Ann, a Swiss artist who is making her mark on the international music scene. It is available with a new single on Pop Label Records/Jaywork Music Group, “Death Heart”.

how is your music?

I would describe my music as very emotional and multifaceted. I love helping people in different life situations.

How did you decide to produce your track with Jayworks?

“Death Heart” was initially composed by one of Italy’s best rising producers, Alessandro Dossi aka BVMPS, a producer I’ve worked with before for the song “Escape”. My life partner and personal producer Luigi Veese aka LP’S immediately told me to listen to it after hearing the instrumental of the song, on first listen I felt like I loved it! He arranged everything with BVMPS and managed the entire production phase.

How was the production?

Cooperation with BVMPS has always been very smooth. Recording was a bit more difficult as I put a lot of emotion into the song and had to pause several times. As the title suggests, “Dead Heart” is about a dead heart. The listeners should feel the pain. When you’re happy, it’s hard to express pain… The recording of the song actually happened at a very sad moment in my life, my cat died. He was like my little child and at that moment my heart was broken, I was in deep pain and it was the right time to record this song and dedicate it to him.

What are your musical references?

There are many artists that fascinate me, one of my favorites is definitely Ed Sheeran, but I also like lesser known artists like German singer Lee and Ayo. I love listening to different styles of music from different DJs and producers, some of my favorites are Lost Frequency, Jonas Blue and Avicii.

How would you describe your musical roots?

When I was in school, I started a little band called ‘Alien’ with my friends. Over the next few years, I took classical guitar lessons for about 6 years, then took voice lessons and performed live. My first song was released in 2016 after meeting my life partner and producer Luigi Veese aka LP’S. He believed in my voice, we started making a lot of music together and we released many songs, some of which got played on different radio stations in Switzerland, like Radio Swiss Pop.

How did you meet Jaywork?

Thanks to Luigi, I met him. After watching an interview with Luca Peruzzi where he talked about copyright, I marveled at his professionalism and knowledge of the music industry. Luigi immediately looked at the Jayworks label contacts and gave them to me. So I sent the demo to Luca, and now we are talking about ‘Death Heart’ which will be released on 06.30.2023.

What are your musical projects after this album?

There are already several songs in development, some already in production. Luigi and I are currently working on a pop/house music project called “LP’s & Lei Ann”. The next tracks will be collaboration songs with him. I can’t wait to finish working on them so I can release them and get my music out to as many people as possible.
