Leon opens the door of history

The centennial retrospective of the Spanish Basketball Federation “Our History, Our Future” opened yesterday at the Royal Hospital of León. The exhibition, which will close on September 15 in the capital, León, aims to bring visitors closer to the rich history of Spanish men’s and women’s basketball and is divided into four themed areas: “First Steps” United The “European Championships” will be held since 1923, the Intercontinental Championships in which Spain has participated since the “World Championships” in 1935, and since 1950 in Argentina.

In the fourth and final segment, “Olympic Games”, visitors will be able to remember our country’s historic first medal won against Michael Jordan’s North American team in Los Angeles in 1984, right up to the double in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 . Medals awarded in two selections.

The mayor of León thanked the Royal Hospital and the Spanish Federation for their support of the exhibition, “which evokes and reminds us of good moments in Spanish basketball.”
