Speaking to Hollywood Records about the soundtrack, Trapanese said:
“I would characterize the music of “No One Will Save You” as surprisingly organic. We wanted the score to still feel a little foreign, so one of the techniques I used was pre-recording. Usually you have an orchestra on stage. the end of the film. This time I wrote down little snippets of ideas and tweaked them a lot so that it was still organic but was either out of tune or upside down. It didn’t sound like your traditional orchestra, but it still sounded organic.”
But you might be wondering how Trapanese created the most exciting sound in the score. It’s clearly created by strings, but it sounds a little distorted. This is quite noticeable at the beginning of the film. The composer explained:
“One of my favorite lines in the film is actually just the beginning. I took the downward string glissandos but flipped them over so they develop over time and get thicker and become like this cloud of sound. You also hear those trombones and French. It’s a juxtaposition between this cloud of strings, this cloud of brass, as if you were sitting at a piano, we were hitting the top and bottom of the keyboard. fear is a feeling of horror.”
The vinyl soundtrack for “No One Will Save You” comes in a special “Invasion” vinyl edition with a “Midnight Blue and White Light Beam” colorway. It is housed in a thick cover with a matte satin finish and comes with a 12×12 insert. The only downside is that it doesn’t include Ruby Murray’s “Knock On Any Door”, which would have been a nice touch. Nobody Can Save You is streaming now on Hulu.
