Lewis Capaldi suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome, a condition he addressed publicly speaking in the press last year and recently returned to, admitting it could be the cause of his future exit from the music biz. Capaldi, who achieved global pop star status in 2019 with the hit Someone You Lovedexplained his reasons in an exclusive interview with the Times, stating that abandoning music “is not hyperbole” but a real possibility.

In the article, the singer explains that, for a twist of fate, making music is one of the few things that can trigger the symptoms of the disease. But also that the public is ready to help him when the involuntary movements caused by his condition prevent him from singing, just as happened during the performance of Someone You Loved last February. At the moment it is a compromise that works, he admitted, specifying however that “if the situation worsens to the point of causing irreparable damage to his health, he will not hesitate to give up (the live activity)”.
Lewis Capaldi will release his second album, successor to in May Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. The record is sort of a complement to that, as its title is Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. A supporting tour has already been planned across North America and Europe.
