And their interactions when they meet are equally beautiful. When Isaiah first discovered Wayne’s presence, he was truly shocked. “I have to see him. I didn’t even need to see him, I just wanted to see him. ” His companions could understand his awe, claiming: “This is the Michael Jordan of hockey, man. ”

But for the 5-foot-9 point guard, meeting the legend was even more special. ““I just wanted to meet you, it would be an honor.” The joy and smile on Thomas’s face during their interaction made it clearer than his words how much this moment means to him.

Later, he equated his meeting with Gretzky with “It’s like meeting MJ! ! ! “crazy!!!”
