30 players nominated for the Dubai Globe Football Awards’ Best Men’s Player award, which will be chosen by World Cup and UEFA Champions League winners
Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham are the nominees for the Globe Football Award for Best Men’s Player.
The award will be decided by online fan voting and a jury of 30 “key figures in football”, including Roma legend Francesco Totti, World Cup-winning goalkeeper Iker Casillas and Champions League-winning coach Marcel Lo Lippi.
Karim Benzema won last year’s award and is one of 30 nominees this year. Haaland’s Manchester City teammates Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Ederson, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Rodri and Bernard Do Silva is also nominated after last season’s historic treble, as is Ilkay Gundogan, who left to join Barcelona in the summer.
Premier League stars Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Andre Onana were also nominated, alongside England captain Harry Kane and Real Madrid duo Luka Modric and Vinny Jr. Hughes.
The remaining nominees include Nicolò Varela, Yassine Bounou, Antoine Griezmann, Hurvich Kvaratskhelia, Robert Lewandowski, Lau Taro Martinez, Kylian Mbappe, Kim Min-jae and Victor Osimhen.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Dubai on January 19, along with awards for best female player, fans’ favorite player and best agent. Nominees for best women’s player include Lions stars Millie Bright, Rachel Daly, Mary Earps and Georgia Stanway.
There will also be awards for the Best Men’s and Women’s Club, Best New Player and Middle East Player Awards. The Maradona Award will be awarded to the player with the most goals this year, with Haaland, Kane, Ronaldo and Mbappe all competing for this honor.
