No player in NBA history has remained at the top of his game for two decades like James, let alone maintained an elite level over that span.
In the endless debate among fans over whether James or Michael Jordan are the best players to ever play the game, this is perhaps his best case.
Jordan was outstanding in his own right, even averaging 20.0 points per game in his final season (2002-03) at age 40. Jordan also averaged 30.1 points per game, won 10 scoring titles, and received other awards (such as 5 MVP awards, 6 NBA championships, and 11 All-NBA teams).
James also has an outstanding resume, with 19 All-NBA team honors, 4 NBA championships and 4 NBA MVP awards, among other honors. But James’ career isn’t over yet, and he can continue to write other chapters that will add to his monumental legacy.
