The Black Lives Matter movement has gained great prominence recently and real-life will influence several series, including Lucifer, the Netflix series starring actor Tom Ellis.

According to Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson, the showrunners of the series, there is a need to give voice to the Movement and they decided to do it directly. The episode will be part of Lucifer‘s 6th season – no date yet for production to begin, as the recordings have been suspended due to COVID-19.

Thanks to this, the whole team will have more time to give the necessary focus so that the approach is done in a responsible way.

Modrovich will be responsible for directing the episode in question and said that he intends to start from a more emotional perspective, bringing a social burden to the series. Lucifer is also a police series, so the approach to abuse of authority and racial prejudice is even more necessary.

Lucifer was saved from the cancellation and you can see it on Netflix. The series premieres its 5th season on August 21, Friday, directly on the streaming platform.
