It hits theaters on November 23rd. The Hunger Games – The Ballad of the Nightingale and the Serpenthighly anticipated prequel film to the saga featuring Jennifer Lawrence. In an interview with Empirefilm director Francis Lawrenceadmitted that he was worried that people might not go to the movies from the hunger games without Katniss. However, he found solace in this. Lucy Grey, the protagonist of the prequel played by Rachel Zeglercompletely different from Lawrence’s character.
Katniss was an introvert and survived,” Lawrence said. She was rather quiet and stoic, almost asexual. Lucy Gray is the complete opposite. She openly shows her sexuality, (and) she is really an artist. While Katniss was forced to become the face of a rebellion and deadly with a bow, Lucy Gray loves to be the center of attention and uses her wits as a weapon. (Lucy Grey) loves the crowd. She knows how to play on the crowd and manipulate people.
Apart from the first tribute to the poor neighborhood, Lucy Gray is also the love interest of 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth), the man who would become Panem’s tyrannical president, whom viewers recognized in the original trilogy.
Snow had never met such a girl before – she had previously told Lawrence about Blyth’s character.
According to the plot of this Ballad of the Nightingale and the Serpentwhich happens to coincide with the 10th annual Hunger Games, Snow is the last hope for her once-proud, fallen family.
Young Snow is alarmed when Lucy Gray Baird is assigned to him, the report says. But after Lucy Gray gets all of Panem’s attention by singing defiantly during the harvest ceremony, Snow thinks she can tip the odds in their favor. Combining their instinct for showmanship and their newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy’s race against time to survive will ultimately show who’s the songbird and who’s the snake.
