The cast of “Black Panther” took to social media this week to commemorate the action star’s 47th orbit around the sun with various gestures.
Wednesday (November 29), Lupita Nyong’o Posted a throwback Polaroid photo featuring some of the cast members from the film, including herself, Boseman, who plays Black Panther, and Michael B. Jordan, Killmonger actor and film director Ryan Kugelriver
“In honor of a hero friend’s birthday. I’m so lucky that his time on this earth coincides with mine,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
Nyong’o, who plays Nakia in the film and its 2022 sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, explained that the photo was taken during a press tour for the original film in 2018.
Seeing the staff together definitely gave us a lot of emotion.
Jordan also paid tribute to Boseman today by updating his profile picture on the platform with a black-and-white photo of the two.

“Purpose is interdisciplinary. Purpose is an essential element of who you are. It’s why you’re on this planet at this particular moment in history,” he said. “Your existence is surrounded by what you are here to accomplish.”
The tributes didn’t stop with his cast. Boseman’s widow, Tyler Simon Ledward Boseman, also posted on the app to commemorate his life and legacy. She documented the memory of them smiling while sitting at the dinner table, and another photo captured her kissing her boyfriend as he hugged her.
“When I talk to God, I thank Him for giving me time. Happy birthday, angel 💜,” she captioned the post.
In 2020, Boseman lost his four-year battle with colon cancer.The South Carolina native made his mark by playing some of the most iconic black figures in history, including Jackie Robinson In “42” and james brown In “Stand Up“.
